As a fashion curator, I bring to light the thread of the untold stories of fashion. Engaging in collection building, exhibition planning, and extensive research, I contextualize garments within broader cultural, historical, and artistic frameworks.

As a visual storyteller, I often reach beyond the field of fashion to other artistic disciplines, shedding light on the intersection with various forms of creative expression.

My process of curation is one of continuous research, often years before the exhibition opens to the public. By advising the acquisitions and loans of garments, accessories, and related materials, my goal is to seed the fashion collection with the pieces that best represent the concept of the exhibition. An original narrative is a result of both curiosity and discipline, of the ability to combine visual and theoretical research into a cohesive visual presentation that will effectively engage the viewer, inviting her to explore both new as well as historical perspectives.

Behind the scenes, I collaborate with fellow curators, scholars, art directors, set designers and other experts to bring a comprehensive and well-rounded perspective to the curated exhibition. Art direction, documentation, preservation of garments , and the preparation of Interpretative materials are some of the steps that take place before the exhibition is open to the public.

FASHION IS FEMALE

WHAT THEY ARE SAYING?

Marta too enchanted me with every layer of herself and the passion that she shared with us. Our visit to the Yves Saint Laurent Museum was perhaps one of the most memorable experiences I have ever had.

Marta, fully in her element, had the power to bring me to tears through her simple yet insightful explanation of who Yves was and how he reinvented the fashion industry through his courage, love and dedication.
